6. Diagram Generator — Text to Excalidraw in Seconds
If you've ever spent forty-five minutes wrestling with a diagramming tool to create a system architecture diagram, this skill is going to make you unreasonably happy.
You describe what you want in plain text — "show the data flow between our React frontend, Node.js API gateway, PostgreSQL database, and Redis cache, including authentication through Auth0" — and the skill generates a professional diagram exported as JSON. Not a PNG. Not a PDF. A JSON file you can import directly into Excalidraw.
That last part matters. Excalidraw is my go-to diagramming tool because it produces diagrams that look hand-drawn (which clients love — polished diagrams feel intimidating, sketchy ones feel collaborative). Getting JSON output means I can import the generated diagram, move elements around, add notes, change colors, and export the final version in whatever format I need.
I generated seven diagrams in one afternoon. Seven. A database schema, two API flow diagrams, a deployment pipeline, a network topology, and two component architecture views. The same work would have taken me most of a day using draw.io or Lucidchart.

Setting up a connector involves authenticating Claude Co-work with the target application. Direct integrations use standard OAuth. Zapier connections require configuring a Zapier MCP server. Expect fifteen to thirty minutes for your first connector, less once you understand the pattern.
Scheduled Tasks let you run any skill on a recurring basis without manual intervention. Hourly, daily, weekly — you set the cadence and Claude handles execution. My morning briefing runs daily at 6:45 AM. My client report generator runs every Friday at 3 PM. My news research skill runs every Monday morning so I have fresh content ideas for the week.
The combination of connectors and scheduled tasks creates something that feels qualitatively different from "using an AI tool." When my morning briefing automatically pulls calendar data, email summaries, and news feeds, formats them into a branded dashboard, and has it waiting for me before I wake up — that's not assistance. That's delegation.
I want to be honest about the limitations here, though. Connectors can break. API tokens expire. Zapier has rate limits and occasional downtime. I've had mornings where the briefing was missing my calendar events because Google's OAuth token needed refreshing.
